Meet the Family
FITC staff are a special breed of individuals, brought together with a common goal: to put on some of the most amazing festivals and events all over the globe...and to party. Come, meet the family...
![]() Shawn Pucknell Director |
Shawn began his digital career as a Flash developer back in the days of Flash 1. Somewhere along the way he started holding Festivals, and now he does events full time. His life is now spent running FITC events around the globe. Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Seoul....and a few other cities. Shawn was voted most likely to direct Blade Runner, the musical. |

![]() Erin Kelly Director of Operations |
As Director of Operations, Erin is the logistical wizard who turns a small idea into a big reality here at FITC. With Shawn as the resident dreamer, Erin becomes our realist, a dynamic that is crucial to making FITC the adventure that it is.
Erin has an opinion about everything, is annoyingly organized and is that little voice in your head chanting deadlines, deadlines, deadlines. When she isn't running an event, she's running long distance races , an endurance necessary to coordinate thousands of people in dozens of locations around the world, and she'll still be smiling at the end of the day. Erin was voted most likely to be a ludite. Just this year she graduated to a MAC computer, and a cell phone that has email. Way to go Erin! You've come so far! |

![]() Rick Mason Technical Director |
All good teams need a tech guy to hold them together. Although known around the office as a geek, Rick prefers to think of himself as a code ninja, slicing and dicing lines of script into solutions to get the job done. By day he sits at his desk wielding the ColdFusion Sword of Speed and the Actionscript Axe of Power. By night he dons his Ninja Rss Suit to scour the web for anything related to making the web a better place for everyone.
But one mystery remains, the super secret ninja power of technical curation. Rick uses his ninja wisdom to compile the technical sessions at FITC events into comprehensive bodies of work for everyone to learn from. If you want to talk code at FITC you must safely navigate Rick's Path of Speaker Knowledge to make it on to the agenda. At FITC events look for the guy with the massive beard, fixing the wifi or secretly honing his Rock Band skillz at the sponsor booths while he should actually be fixing something that's broken and you've probably found him. |

![]() Lisa Walters Administrator of Awesome |
How does one Administrate Awesome? Lisa lays down the awesome in many parts of FITC. She manages all of our presenters by making sure they get to each event and are having a great time. She's also sometimes volunteer coordinator, sometimes registration manager - there are just too many things to count. Treating each party like its 1999 and prohibition is about to start, at our events she is the one getting down with her bad self one minute and the friendly face helping you into a cab the next. When back in the office, Lisa lurks around the internets researching every possible thing about the cities that FITC lays claim to and takes on event logistics wherever needed. Lisa does what needs to be done, when it needs to be done and she makes it all look good under a cloak of spy-like mystery. (She made us add that last part. Lisa really wants to be a spy.) Lisa was voted most likely to never wear pants and most likely to never show her true hair color. She's managed to do this for 20 something years now. |

Alison BrittOffice Manager |
If you've been to an FITC event since the fall of 2010, then you have met, talked to or worked with Alison. She is the glue that keeps all of FITC's pieces together. She handles event registrations, makes sure the bills are paid and is an all-around expert paper pusher.
When she's not making sure you are taken care of, she is watching over the FITC crew. If anyone is worthy of the title 'Momager' it's Alison. While it's not her official title, Alison has struck the balance between mom and office manager perfectly. She makes sure the staff is well fed, smiling and equipped to take on events all over the world. Alison also has a contagiously positive attitude which is hard to resist. Just try to not like her, it's close to impossible. |

![]() Lindsay Munro Manager of Conversation |
Managing the conversation at FITC is no simple task because let's be honest, there's a lot talk about. Luckily, Lindsay has the gift of gab, a passion for technology and the skills needed to keep the conversation flowing. From social media to news releases, Lindsay manages FITC's communications efforts, online and off. One thing which will get Lindsay to stop talking is reading. You can often find her staring at her Kindle, gawking at the side of a cereal box or glued to her laptop, absorbing the latest news. Once a die-hard fan of the Bernstein Bears, these days you're more likely to catch her reading a social network feed, public relations textbook or Oprah's latest recommendation. Next time you see her, ask her what she's reading - she'll tell you all about it. |
